IaaS Support

IT organizations are rapidly evolving to being infrastructure as a service (IaaS) providers to their internal customers.  Virtualization solutions from VMware and others are enabling IT to increase their data center computing utilization and save costs.  In many cases, IT will augment their internal virtualized infrastructure deployments with external IaaS clouds such as Amazon and Rackspace.

The Jamcracker Enterprise solution includes an IaaS deployment module that enables enterprise IT to deploy and administer public and private clouds from a single management interface.  IT administrators can quickly deploy internally-hosted virtualized services on existing x86 based servers as well as from public cloud providers including Amazon EC2 and Rackspace.IaaS Toolkit

Jamcracker's IaaS deployment module takes the guess-work out of creating virtual environments, providing IT the flexibility to offer IaaS to their employees with a self-service fulfillment model. Users can select standard cloud configurations from an IT services catalogue, provision their own cloud services, install virtualized applications and start leveraging the benefits of cloud computing.  The IaaS deployment module is technology agnostic and can consolidate the delivery of virtually any private cloud, regardless of whether it's based on virtualized solutions from VMware, other hypervisors, and/or open-source tools such as Eucalyptus (click here to view presentation.)

For public cloud consumption, the IaaS deployment module comes pre-integrated with leading cloud providers such as Amazon, Rackspace and others. Private and public clouds can be offered together from a single self-service portal, enabling users to pick the right cloud for the job. The module, in conjunction with the Jamcracker Platform Enterprise Edition, also enables IT to offer packaged SaaS applications to their users and manage licenses and security compliance from a unified dashboard.

Private and public clouds are managed from a single console that enables consistent security and compliance policy enforcement, usage metering and auditing, image portability, as well as back-office settlement and departmental charge-backs for public and private cloud consumption. Powered by the Jamcracker Platform's intelligent workflow engine, it allows IT to automate their entire command, control, compliance and intelligence needs:

Command:
  • Create and manage best-of-breed hybrid cloud environments by incorporating private clouds, based on different virtualization technologies, as well as public clouds from 3rd party providers.
  • Integrate cloud services administration with existing IT processes, policies, and assets.

Control:

  • Single point of provisioning, billing, and access control for all cloud services, whether private or public, to reduce IT operating costs.
  • Self-service provisioning enables users to access the services they need, when they need them, for as long as they need.

Compliance:

  • Enforce consistent security and regulatory compliance policies across all internal and external cloud services usage.
  • Automated workflows enable IT to create pre-defined cloud configurations, significantly reducing manual processes.

Intelligence:

  • Reporting dashboards allow IT to monitor usage, manage licenses, and delegate administrative tasks throughout their organizations.

The Jamcracker Platform Enterprise Edition, along with the IaaS deployment module, helps IT reduce operating costs and capital expenditures, improve productivity and increase business agility.  IT professionals can improve service levels, maximize the utilization of resources, and empower their users by automating their cloud enablement, delivery, and management processes.
