JAMCRACKER INTRODUCES SERVICE DELIVERY PLATFORM TO HELP TELECOM COMPANIES DELIVER SERVICES ON DEMAND

New Platform Leverages Jamcracker’s On Demand Expertise, Helps Operators Increase Revenues and Contain Costs

Santa Clara, California- November 08, 2005- Jamcracker, the leading provider of On Demand Delivery Software, today announced the availability of its Service Delivery Platform (SDP), an offering designed to help telecom operators and content aggregators deliver services on demand.

Operators will be able to rapidly create a service delivery infrastructure to aggregate and deliver a vast array of services from their portfolio or from third-party content providers. For example, using Jamcracker’s SDP, carriers can deliver services such as VoIP, Video on Demand or business applications on demand, via existing networks without long implementation cycles or large capital expenditures. This in turn results in increased average revenue per customer and reduced customer churn.

“The only way that service providers can cost-effectively deliver large numbers of services on demand to large numbers of customers is by reusing shared service delivery infrastructure. A service delivery platform helps carriers to rapidly roll out new services without incurring significant costs and without having to put new infrastructure in place”, said Caroline Chappell, associate analyst with Heavy Reading. “Today's announcement by Jamcracker is a step in the right direction from a company that has experience in delivering services on demand. Jamcracker's service delivery platform has been enhanced for the carrier environment and can help operators capture revenue from on demand services.”

Jamcracker’s Service Delivery Platform consists of set of several key functions that provide access control, identity management, user profile management, service cataloging, promotion management, personalization and bundling and creation of new services over a shared services model, all of which are extremely crucial to deliver services on-demand. With built-in process automation, the Jamcracker SDP also reduces the costs and time required to acquire, provision, maintain and deliver services.

“Jamcracker’s SDP directly addresses the most critical challenges facing the telecom companies today” said K B Chandrasekhar, President and CEO of Jamcracker Inc. “With subscriber penetration reaching saturation levels and voice revenues flattening, service providers are looking for innovative services to retain existing customers and to generate new revenue without retooling systems or breaking their wallet.”

Specifically, Jamcracker’s SDP features a streamlined, carrier-grade, scalable open standards-based architecture pre-integrated with Parlay and JBOSS, which is network and technology agnostic. The Jamcracker SDP easily integrates with existing OSS, BSS and IMS infrastructure. This infrastructure will provide an efficient delivery mechanism for on-demand promotion of service offers and bundles that can be delivered over an n-tier distribution model.

Operators can achieve this by:

  • Creating, aggregating and deploying a broad range of value-added, convergent and mobile services using a common process and framework
  • Minimizing integration requirements when launching new services
  • Enable customer self-service through a self-service portal to reduce service delivery bottlenecks
  • Improving new service creation time for faster time to market and new revenues
  • Enabling cross-marketing and targeted promotion of personalized, bundled services by better understanding customer behavior and preferences

Jamcracker will be demonstrating its Service Delivery Platform at the Telemanagement World Conference in Dallas November 8- 10. Additional information on the SDP can be obtained by contacting Jamcracker at info@jamcracker.com .
